Bronzer alternative? Powder maybe?
I have been using bronzer for ages now and I apply it to my whole face to give a glow. I apply extra on my cheeks for definition.
I am now tired of this look and want to go for a more natural pale look. I use a tinted moisturiser, but would like something to give a shine free finish like my bronzer did. Any ideas?
Is it ok to wear powder over the tinted moisturiser?
I am currently using Guerlain bronzer which is fantastic!!

Best long stay foundation? for pale skin, acne skin?
right now using guerlain parure extreme, i love the fact it lasts soo long! but.. the palest colour just seems a shade or two dark for me, a different colour to my neck. In fact, as i have a fringe, its a complete different colour to my forehead. i think its a bit pricey, and i have to be careful about the amount i put on. Any suggestions? Long stay, full coverage and for pale skin.|||Id try a mineral makeup line. Bare Minerals and Physician's Formula are two good ones, but the 2nd one is less expensive and can be found in Walmart/Target. Its better for your skin and is good for pale skin. You can layer it depending on the amount of coverage you want and it doesnt fade or flake off weird either.|||I agree with the mineral foundation part - it really can work wonders. I'm very pale with a tendancy to break out, and i'm currently using Clinique's new mineral makeup. However, I'd ask for some samples before you buy as it's a little pricey (it will last your forever though)|||try the ProActiv make up, it works wonders. You will even forget you're wearing make up, and it last a long time plus it helps cover up imperfections on skin without it looking all cakey-like... plus there's different tones so you'll be able to find the right match for you skin.|||try Mary Kay. I love it!

Does anyone use Smashbox products?
I love them! Wouldn't use anything else! Well apart from Urban Decay, Mac, Lancom茅, Este茅 Lauder, Guerlain, YSL, etc, etc....... lol.|||Yes all of these distributors have good products. I'm a make up artist and I have to say my tickle truck has many of these names in the box. I tent to stink to Lancome and Mac. Smashbox's has a good eyebrow wax/color (in a tub) and the photo finish is good for long shoots. It all depends on the wear, and reason!|||Yes|||yes I like them also

dior, chanel, guerlain, etc. all those $$$$ brands which one is the best??|||Yves Saint Laurent. It is really soft and light on your face, and most of it has built-in SPF.|||chanel|||La Prarie. Very Expensive (more so than those you mentioned). But well worth the $.

Ralph Lauren Blue lasts for weeks on clothing and in cars but is not over powering, it's a subtle smell that is sooo delicous, you only need one spritz on the wrist and you're good for the day. Plus not many department stores carry it so I order it online. It's worth it. I wear Baby Phat Goddess every day, it's the best. But it looks like you want something really high end. I am a Virgo and I need to update a few things one is my fragrance.....I don't care for just anything?
I have worn Samsara by Guerlain, Worth by Je Revien, Safari for Women, Gianfranco Ferre %26amp; Calandre to name a few....i want something light...I don't care for dime store fragrances or 'heavy fumes' ~ Estee lauder is all pretty much the same....I want something light and soft.....any ideas?

Best self-tanning product that doesn't wash off immediately..?
preferably in the Clarins, Lancome, Guerlain or Elizabeth Arden line. I'm looking for something natural and subtle that won't fade completely away after taking a shower. Thanks a lot :) Please respond if you've had a personal experience with the item.
xo|||Okay well I use tan towel. They are THE BEST. The tan looks totally real and no one knows! They are SO easy to put on and they dont wash off easy! It takes a few hours for the tan to actually come, but thats okay, its worth it. the negative is that it has a slight smell to it but it doesnt bother anyone. I just put some on because im not going anywhere spring break but i still want to look tan. None of my friends know i fake tan, they think its real! Tan towels can be found at http://www.tantowels.com . they are amazing, i would deffinetly have you consider buying them!|||Well I havnt had any experience with them but I do use tan towel and I love them! After your shower just rub it on and wait until its dry (which takes like 3 seconds) and your ready. Shalimar perfume- what is the real price?
How come when I want to buy Shalimar by GUERLAIN the price ranges from $50 to $130? Is the $50 one not genuine?|||The $130 is a parfum and the $50 can be either a cologe, eau de toilette or a perfume. Parfum is always a very small bottle. The price just ranges for what strength you want. You best to go with the $50 because parfum's are a dab on form. Bottles like that ruin faster.

I've been on the hunt for the best department store mascara. I'm looking for some volume and length, a good mascara for evenings out! What make-up brand do you recommend?
I have fairly good skin. I first tried MAC ... but it was way too heavy for me and it was clogging my pores. I then moved to bare essentials by bare minerals.... but I want to try something new. My choices (the ones @ the mall) are Guerlain, Christian Dior, Estee Lauder, Lancome, Bobbi Brown, Chanel, and clinique (although i would rather skip clinique). I have whitish-skin color...|||dont feel obligated to buy make-up from one line. theres alot of diff products and a lot of diff lines which are all great.|||chanel|||benefit or clinique is my preferance|||Lancome! I worked at their beauty counter and loved it!!|||I use Pur Minerals. Unline Bare Minersals, Pur Minerals is pressed. It doens't clog your pores, it makes your skin look clear and doesn't look caked on or gross. It's just really really natural. E. xx|||i recommend Perscriptives it is formulated by a dermatologist and has a wide range of foundations and skin care products to fit all kinds of skin types and colors.|||i usually use all of those kinds of brands for all of my makeup except for my foundation. i use loreal true match foundation. it is by far the best that i have ever used. it feels very light on my skin, but it still manages to hide any imperfections. out of the brands that you have listed, i have tried mac, dior, clinique and lancome. it is by far superior to any of those that i have tried. you can pick it up at any supermarket that sells makeup and its only around 8 to 10 dollars, but it is still the best.
if you must use one of those brands that you listed then i recomend clinique. it seemed to be the lightest feeling out of the ones that i tried.|||Why don't you try Revlon Color Stay(active), it a light, water base foundation which will not clog your pores. In addition, it contains SPF 25 %26amp; FPS 25. I am sure you will find a shade to match your skin tone.

Advice please ladies - If my partner likes Estee Lauder 'Beautiful' which other perfumes wiil she like?
Ok, I know perfume is a very personal and objective thing but I'm trying to find a new perfume that my partner will like. She really likes Estee Lauder 'Beautiful'. I bought her Guerlain 'Samsara' and she hated it. So any suggestions? Personally I think she smells great in anything! TIA|||Estee Lauder's 'Beautiful' is quite a delicate, feminine, light scent where as Guerlain 'Samsara' is quite heavy so I'm not surprised she wasn't that happy with it.
I think it's lovely you want to give her a new perfume as a treat. However, make sure you make it clear it's just a gift and not a hint that you hate her regular perfume (unless you do hate it).
Why don't you just go shopping with her (I know, I know) for the perfume and just whip out your credit card for the one that takes her liking.
Alternatively, if you really want to surprise her, take a sneaky peek at some of her glossy mags like Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Grazia etc in their 'Beauty' sections they are always profiling the latest scents with a description of their smells.
Failing that though - here are some of my personal recommendations:
1. Dolce and Gabbanna 'Light Blue'
2. Christian Dior 'J'Adore'
3. Miss Dior Cherie

What logotypes use Bodoni font?
I'm looking for logotypes that make use of the Bodoni font family. So far I've found Lancia, Elizabeth Arden, Giorgio Armani (though the R has been modified) and Guerlain logos to be using it. Any ideas for perfume bottles?
I have about 10-15 bottles of old perfume. They're all about 10 years old, but 3/4 full. The scent of some has gone off, while others are still okay. They're good brands- Guerlain, Cartier, Bulgari, Hermes, Dior, etc. Some in the box.
I want to get rid of them, but what do I do? Is there an ebay market for old perfumes? Or am I better off either throwing them out or donating to Goodwill?

Being an ignorant regarding this I found out in an airport duty free shop, from a nice lady that now there are just few brands who still make perfumes just using the pure essentials oils. I was in a hurry and she mentioned HERMES and GUERLAIN with the old Shalimar. Do you know some other brands ? I want a new and very special perfume. Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!|||If you want something different but with pure essential oils, then look for what are called Attars. They are traditional Indian perfumes that have a base of sandalwood essential oil and have different layers of other pure essential oils. They are rather pricey due to the way they are made, and they don't use any synthetics in them. As the lady in the airport duty shop pointed out, unfortunately most of the perfumers have abandoned the old method of producing perfumes using only pure essential oils. Mostly due to trying to reduce their costs.
The company Floracopeia still makes the Attars and "natural perfume" using only pure essential oils.

Can i use a facial toner to clean my Makeup Brushes?
i mean my brushes are pretty expensive ,from guerlain...all of them and one HUGE botan brush from nars....and i dont wanna realy invest in a pro brush cleanser -.- ..idk why
so i have a loreal face toner which i dont really use anymor...so can i just clean my brushes with it???|||You should not experiment with your brushes, as you say they are expensive. I have used several things for cleaning brushes but all of them brush cleaners is the best but the other ways of cleaning were also good. You can use baby shampoo for this , they are cheaper. You can use your hair conditioner too for this purpose. Olive oil can also be used for this purpose and its really a good idea.
Sprinkle some olive oi on your brush and gently rub them on a paper towel until it is clean. This really works|||Baby shampoo works awesome for that. Ive got some pretty expensive brushes and have used baby shampoo and it works GREAT! Toners/Astringents have alcohol in them and those are ingredients that are drying. After washing blot (do not rub dry) with a clean dry towel or washcloth etc and let them air dry.|||I wouldn't really go with that because the alcohol in the toner would make them kind of dry. Baby shampoo is definitely perfect if you want something gentle that will still clean them though. I use a brush cleaner from a craft store and it works absolutely beautifully for all of my brushes. What is the best bronzer for pale skin?
I have tried bobbi brown in light and medium, Guerlain in blondes no1, bare escentuals in faux tan and warmth, nothing loks good. I don't want a tanned look just a to warm my skin up abit.|||pale skin is beautiful so I don't think you should use a bronzer at all. Be proud of your skin. But if you do end up using bronzer, please use it sparingly. I had a pale friend who loaded up on it for a short while and everyone made fun of her for being "orange"...they still do, even though she doesn't do it anymore. Where to get foundation for super pale people?
I am basically Dita Von Teese white-skinned. I have had so much trouble finding pale enough foundation.
Everything makes me look like I have a tan: Nars, Clarins, Guerlain.....I've tried lots.

PS Please don't tell me to get a tan!!|||I am super SUPER pale myself and I've been to the dermatologist and am forbidden to tan so my only option (besides using a light facial tanner - which makes me look fake) is to use really pale foundation as well. I go with Neutrogena Visibly Even foundation in blushing ivory. this works great with my skin because it's natural and doesn't clog my pores. also, if a foundation is too light, a trick is to buy a facial moisturizer and mix that with the foundation before applying it. This will lighten the foundation and moisturize your skin as well.
Another idea would be to try the new Almay product that is supposed to "change to your skin color." I have never tried it, but heard it works great. It comes as a white foundation and "camoflauges" to your skin after applying it.

Guerlain insolence?
my best friend wears insolence by guelain perfume and i absolutely LOVE it.. its possibly my favourite perfume EVER... but.... she's not the type of person to say "Oh Alex, if u like it so much... u get it, I don't mind".... she would go mental if I got it cause its 'her smell'..... soooo.... I was thinkin.... does anyone know of a perfume which is very similar so that everyone is happy??|||Well, there is My Insolence by Guerlain and technically it is a different perfume but it might smell similar. The French 'ain' sound is not one English speakers are used to because it's a nasal sound, the same as in "un", not found in the English phonetic alphabet. I truly recommend that, if you want to pronounce it right, you ask a French native to pronounce it for you. I believe there are also some online dictionaries that will read words you have looked up and you can hear the 'ain' sound that way by looking up the following French words: 'main', 'pain', 'demain', etc.|||gue~~~%26gt; as guess

I would like someone to give me an organised list of what to look for when i go shopping. I love the look of make-up by Guerlain, Chanel, YSL, Lancome, Dior and Estee Lauder - however, need some direction! What makes are the best for which products? I have black hair and olive skin, and would be looking for products that suit me.

I am 22 years old, and will be in Australia during their hot summer. Could I wear Sharlimar Guerlain perfume?

My tinted moisturizer flakes off and balls up?
Almost every-time I use this Bobby Brown tinted moisturizer it balls up instantly and flakes off.
I've tried using moisturizer underneath, and I've even tried using moisturizer and a Guerlain primer.
Any ideas of what's going wrong?|||gross, try Dermalogica sheer tint|||Your face might be oily. I would switch my tinted moisturizer or your can use oil blotting sheets after you put the tinted moisturizer on. I use some from meet mark . They are called "mark Cheat Sheet Shine-Blotters" They Soak up surface oils without disturbing your makeup.Sheets are ideal for on-the-go touch-ups or any time. There only 5 bucks! and they work wonders! You can purchase this brand at Wal-Mart, the colored mascaras are $6 each and they have colors like neon pink, aqua, a typical blue (not navy) color and gold. For other brands, I'd say Urban Decay's Big fatty colored mascaras, which come in 5 different colors and retail for about $17 each at your local Sephora or Ulta. The colors are Indigo, which as the name implies, a nice indigo purpleish blue, Black Cherry, a burgandy red, Purple Haze, a deep purple, Electric Blue, a bright turquoise, and flipside which is a nice teal color.

Perfume: fake or not? guerlain shalimar?
I've got a gift form someone and it's a perfume, shalimar by guerlain. the bottle%26amp;packing seem ok, but it wasn't sealed... and i was thinking wether it's not a cheap fake (they're common in my country). so does anyone know how can i test it...or some sign that indicates if it's original or not? like something on the box, a sign, etc?

How come this foundation is terrible?
I use a skincare regime by Guerlain (Issima) and am very happy with it. My foundation is usually Chanel (also very happy with it) but I figured when I ran out I'd try the Issima foundation to match the rest of the regime. However it is terrible, it looks blotchy, sinks into my skin and basically feels like I'm putting stucco onto my face. I tried it for a week but have now gone back to Chanel and a nice face.

Guerlain Parure Extreme vs. Chanel Mat Lumiere vs. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk?
I am currently looking to purchase a high end foundation. I have done a little bit of research, and the Guerlain Parure Extreme, Chanel Mat Lumiere, and Armani Luminous Silk are three that I am considering. I have seen them on several beauty blogs, with positive reviews and gorgeous reviews. Has any one tried any of these and which one would you recommend?

Also- this may be a silly question but would they give me samples of these foundations at the makeup counters in Nordstrom? I usually don't go to makeup counters very often because I always get suckered into buying more than I need, lol. In these case I would though because I need to get color matched anyway!|||I have used both Giorgio Armani and Chanel and out of those I would definetly use Chanel if your looking for staying power.
I have tested pretty much all the Chanel foundations and out of their 3 most popular: matt, pro and vitalumiere and all of them are superb. Most natural yet best coverage foundations I have used.
If your young or have fairly good skin I would suggest using pro lumiere instead of Matt, but if you have oily skin or maybe a few blemishes you need to cover then Matt is great. I use Matt in the winter purely because it stays put all day regardless of the weather and I use Pro in Summer as it looks glowing and great in pictures.
A good Chanel makeup artists will offer you a sample before buying and they usually give you a good amount. Dont be afraid to ask for a sample, its alot of money to be paying out for a foundation so dont feel pressured to splash the cash straight away.
