Why have guerlain changed my favourite perfume Chamade? Its horrible now!?

I have been wearing Chamade for 30 years and still love it, but they have changed it, and now it smells like fly spray! Why do perfume companies do this?|||Reformulations happen as fragrance regulations change. The industry is very strictly regulated and every year components are tested and are restricted or banned. Chamade was one of those quietly reformulated fragrances, so they probably started to change it during the great oakmoss fiasco where IFRA (the perfume regulator) banned oakmoss. Guerlain's probably been gradually tweaking it due to mroe and more restrictions until this point where you've noticed it's completely different from the formula you used to love.

I know, it's very sad. New fragrance regulations that came out last year might be threatening Shalimar next. :-(|||They had to reformulate perfumes for health reasons (they used ingredients that where considered all of a sudden unsafe). Chamade was reformulated in 2003, so if your current bottle smells off then that could also be because its old (if you only just now notice it smells different as it has for nearly 8 years).

It could also be because our sense of smell changes when we get older ( I guess you are in your late 40s or older), and so does our skin, What we wore when 20 might not smell the same on a 50 year old skin.
